Tico Pierhagen was born in 1975 in Pasto, Colombia. At the age of one and a half he was adopted by a Dutch family and came to Holland.
When he was 8 years old he started piano lessons and soon he became interested in all kinds of jazz orientated music. After a period of studying and developing himself he moved to Hilversum, the Netherlands and studied composition and music technology at the school of arts of Utrecht. During his study he also managed to achieve the title of EMMA (European Media Master of Arts) at the university of Porthmouth, England. Following his masters he decided to study at the Rotterdam conservatory and studied the piano for another 4 years. In Holland he composes his own sounds and music for film and National television.
In 2008 he reunited with his biological family. This inspired him to make 3 short movies which has led to a collaboration with SOS children village. At this moment he is travelling the world and is involved with several latin, jazz, funk, fusion and national and international well known bands. He released his first album in 2011 with his Colombian band “Aguabajo”
